Albert Müller (engineer)

Albert Müller (born January 2, 1852 in Bregenz , † November 5, 1927 in Elbing , reformed , resident in Kyburg ) was a Swiss mechanical engineer .

Life

Albert Müller was born on January 2, 1852 in Bregenz as the son of the doctor Wilhelm Theodor Müller and the Swiss born Rosalie. He first attended the Latin School in Lindau and the Cantonal School in St. Gallen . He then completed a degree in mechanical engineering .

Subsequently, Müller worked for the Sulzer brothers in Winterthur and for the Swiss Industrial Company in Neuhausen am Rheinfall . Between 1875 and 1925 he was primarily responsible for the construction of the machine and boiler systems for the torpedo boats , liner, express and freight steamers built by Ferdinand Schichau in Elbing, Pillau and Danzig .

In addition, Albert Müller was involved in the development of the compact triple expansion machine, which was characterized by high performance, low coal consumption and space requirements.

He was married to Amalie, the daughter of Friedrich Bähr. Albert Müller died on November 5, 1927, two months before the age of 76 in Elbing.
