Albert Malbois

Albert-Georges-Yves Malbois (born November 17, 1915 in Versailles , France , † February 12, 2017 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye , France) was a French clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Corbeil .

Life

Albert Malbois was ordained a priest on June 29, 1938 after completing his philosophical and theological training . He then carried out various activities in the diocese of Versailles and was most recently vicar general.

Pope John XXIII appointed him on March 9, 1961 titular bishop of Altava and auxiliary bishop in Versailles . The Archbishop of Lyon , Alexandre-Charles Cardinal Renard , donated him episcopal ordination on April 22nd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Roger Jean Fernand Michon , Bishop of Chartres , and Jacques Ménager , Bishop of Meaux . His episcopal motto was "Veni Domine Jesu" (Come, Lord Jesus; Rev 22.20  VUL ).

From 1962 to 1965 Malbois participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council and was the youngest of the French Council Fathers.

Pope Paul VI appointed him on October 9, 1966 as the first bishop of the newly founded diocese of Corbeil . During his tenure, the ecumenical movement and a strengthened pastoral organization of the church was particularly important to Malbois, for which he also strongly advocated.

On September 13, 1977, Paul VI. his resignation for health reasons, nevertheless he took over the direction of the central council of the mission work in Lyon from 1978 to 1988.
