Albert Rupprecht (born June 10, 1968 in Waldthurn ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

Rupprecht grew up in Waldthurn , where he also attended elementary school. At the age of 14, Rupprecht joined the Catholic rural youth movement (KLJB) .

After graduating from high school in 1988 at the Augustinus-Gymnasium in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate , Rupprecht did his military service in the navy and then began studying economics at the University of Regensburg in 1989 . During his studies, Rupprecht was honorary diocesan chairman of the KLJB in the diocese of Regensburg from 1991 to 1992 . He completed his studies in 1995 with a degree in economics. In a parallel second degree in 1993 he obtained an intermediate diploma in sociology. From 1995 to 2002 he worked as a consultant, managing director and partner in various companies.

Albert Rupprecht is married and has two daughters.

Political party

Rupprecht was deputy chairman from 1995 to 1999 and chairman of the Upper Palatinate regional association of the Junge Union from 1999 to 2003 . He has been a member of the board of the CSU district association Neustadt an der Waldnaab since 1997 and of the board of the CSU district association of Upper Palatinate since 2003.

MP

Rupprecht has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2002 and was Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Economics and Technology there from November 2005 to December 2007. Since November 2009 he has been a full member of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment, as well as a deputy member of the Budget Committee and the Committee on Economics and Technology.

In 2002 he entered the German Bundestag via the Bavarian State List . Since 2005 he has been elected as a directly elected member of the Weiden constituency . He achieved 48.4 % of the first votes in 2005 , 44.9% in 2009 and 55.1% in 2013 .

From October 2008 to November 2009 he was chairman of the parliamentary supervisory body for the financial market stabilization fund under the Financial Market Stabilization Act . Since November 2009 he has been chairman and thus spokesman for the education and research working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.

Rupprecht is a member of the European Union parliamentary group of the German Bundestag .
