Albert Vierling

Albert Vierling (born April 5, 1836 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ; † May 3, 1920 ) was a German judge and local researcher.

Life

Albert Vierling was born as the third son of the Weiden pharmacist , mayor and Bavarian member of parliament Jakob Vierling (1806–1874). His mother Antonie b. Gareis was a sister-in-law of State Minister Gustav von Schlör . After studying law, he became a judge. Most recently, until 1904, he was senior judge at the Bavarian Supreme Court . In addition to legal specialist literature, he published articles on the history of the Upper Palatinate .

The painter and sculptor Wilhelm Vierling (1885–1974) was his nephew.

meaning

As an enthusiastic local researcher, he and his wife established the Albert and Katharina Vierling'sche Foundation in 1896 to set up a collection of samples and models for trade and handicrafts in the city of Weiden , from which today's City Museum Weiden emerged.
