Alberto Rossi Longhi
Alberto Marchese Rossi Longhi (born October 15, 1895 in Ravenna , † November 6, 1979 in Arcinazzo Romano ) was an Italian diplomat .
Life
Alberto Rossi Longhi was the son of Amelia Ada Argelli and Giulio Rossi Longhi. He studied law and received his doctorate in law in 1918 . In 1923 he entered the foreign service and was employed in Stockholm . From 1932 to 1933 he was first-class embassy secretary in Vienna . From January 19, 1933 to October 20, 1936 he was Chargé d'affaires in Washington, DC From 1937 to 1940 he was Consul General in Ottawa . From 1940 to 1941 he was counselor in Washington. From 1942 to 1944 he was employed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Italy) in Rome. From 1944 to 1946 he was envoy in Lisbon . From 1947 to 1950 he was ambassador to Tehran . From 1950 to 1954 he was permanent representative of Italy to NATO and the North Atlantic Council . From April 30, 1954 to January 22, 1955 he was ambassador to Francisco Franco .
In 1954 he was appointed Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome. In January 1958 he was replaced in this position by Adolfo Alessandrini. From January to December 1958 he was ambassador to Paris . In 1960 he was retired .
