The Albin Köbis is a German motor yacht and a former state yacht of the GDR .

history

The yacht was built in 1952 as one of three boats of the project 977 "Travel Motor Yacht 20m" on behalf of Wilhelm Pieck as a GDR state yacht at VEB Yachtwerft in Berlin-Köpenick . She ran in 1952 from the stack and, after Albin Köbis named. The inventory and the superstructures were made of precious tropical woods. While Fidel Castro was on board, there was a collision with a bridge. After the German reunification, the yacht was used by the Berlin water police under the name of friendship . In 1990 it was auctioned by the Treuhandanstalt for 180,000 DM. The yacht was inLa Belle renamed. During this time the ship sank, but was made afloat again and converted into a houseboat. In 2009 it was acquired by a private owner who had it restored in the Malz shipyard , a district of Oranienburg . Today the ship is moored in the Kleiner Wannsee .
