Albin Lanner

Albin Lanner (born January 30, 1900 in Bozen , † April 30, 1950 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian sculptor .

Life

Lanner attended the State Trade School in Bozen and the Technical School for Marble Processing in Laas and then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna  with Josef Müllner and at the Academy in Rome with Torrosini and Dossena.

He lived in Innsbruck and created grave monuments, fountains, garden monuments, war memorials and busts. In the Third Reich , his work showed a great deal of closeness to National Socialist ideology. So he presented an "impressive leader's head" at the annual exhibition of the Tyrolean artists in 1939.
