The Innsbrucker Hofgarten is a listed park in Innsbruck (State of Tyrol , Austria ) on the edge of the old town, adjacent to the Hofburg , the Congress Center and the Tyrolean State Theater . Since it has existed for around 600 years, the ten- hectare site has undergone the change from the wetland to the Renaissance and Baroque gardens to the current design in the English landscape style for around 150 years. The last redesign was conceived by Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell , but it was not carried out until four decades later and was essentially different from Sckell's proposal by an unknown master.

The Innsbruck Hofgarten is managed by the Austrian Federal Gardens , a subordinate department of the Ministry of Life .

The Hofgarten is a recreational area in the middle of the city center with an interesting and diverse tree population, a pond, a modern children's playground, a palm house and a popular garden restaurant.

The courtyard garden administration is responsible for maintaining the park. It is noteworthy that there are still plants in the park that were personally planted by the Austrian monarch Maria Theresa . In the center of the park there is a pavilion from 1733, in which numerous events - mainly concerts - take place, while chess tournaments are held on two oversized chess facilities .

For a long time, entering the ornamental lawn was not allowed due to its low resilience. The lawns have been allowed to be entered and used since 2014.

In the palm house there is a collection of around 1700 species of plants, which can be viewed on weekdays. During the temporary picture and sculpture exhibitions in the summer season it can also be visited on weekends.
