Alburgh Village is a village in the town of Alburgh in Grand Isle County of the state of Vermont in the United States with 497 inhabitants (according to the 2010 census). The Village Alburgh is located in the northwest of the Town Alburgh, which protrudes as a peninsula into Lake Champlain . In the north the area of the town borders on Canada .
history
Village Alburgh is the only settlement in Town Alburgh. It was granted independent rights in 1917. All the facilities of the Town and Village are located in the Village. The Rutland Railroad Pumping Station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999 and the US Inspection Station-Alburg Springs, Vermont, in 2014. The spelling of Town and Village was changed back from Alburg to historic Alburgh in 2006 , previously it had been changed from Alburgh to Alburg in 1891 . The spelling Alburg can still be found on the sign of the post office .
