Aleš Mlíčka (born August 8, 1988 ) is a former Czech grass skier . He was a member of the Czech national grass ski team, competed in the World Cup from 2003 to 2008 and was three-time junior world champion in 2006.

Career

Aleš Mlíčka first took part in FIS races in June 2003 . At the Junior World Championships in July this year, his best result was 23rd place in the combination. In August 2003 he took part in his first two World Cup races in Nové Město na Moravě , but did not get into the points. At the 2004 Junior World Championships in Rettenbach , the Czech was ninth in the combination, eleventh in slalom and giant slalom and 16th in super-G. At the end of August 2004 he competed again in Nové Město na Moravě in his next World Cup races and came in the points in all three competitions. His best result was 13th place in the first giant slalom, with which he finished 29th overall in the 2004 season. In the 2005 World Cup season, Mlíčka was among the top ten three times: In L'Aquila he was ninth in the slalom and in Forni di Sopra he was eighth in the combination and tenth in the giant slalom. In the overall classification he was able to improve to 12th place. At the Junior World Championship in 2005 he reached fourth place in the slalom, sixth place in the Super-G and thus fifth place in the combination. In the same year he also took part in a world championship in the general class for the first time in Dizin, Iran , finishing 18th in the Super-G, 19th in the combination and 23rd in both slalom and giant slalom.

Aleš Mlíčka achieved two top 10 places (seventh place in the slalom of České Petrovice and tenth place in the giant slalom of Forni di Sopra) in the 2006 World Cup season , making him eleventh place overall. The then 17-year-old was able to look forward to three titles at the 2006 Junior World Championships in Horní Lhota u Ostravy . He won gold in giant slalom, super-G and combined, and in slalom he took silver behind his compatriot Jan Gardavský . The next year he won another three medals at the Junior World Championships in Welschnofen . In the slalom and in the super-G he took second place, in the giant slalom he was third at the same time as the Swiss Mirko Hüppi , but in the super combined he only came in twelfth place. At the 2007 World Championships in Olešnice v Orlických horách his best results were eleventh place in giant slalom and 13th place in slalom. In the World Cup Mlíčka only took part in the two races in Čenkovice in the 2007 season and fell back to 41st place in the overall standings. In the 2008 season , the Czech competed only two World Cup races. In the slalom of Čenkovice he achieved his best World Cup result with sixth place, but in the overall classification he only achieved 56th place. At the Junior World Championships in 2008 he won the silver medal in slalom. He was fourth in the super combined and fifth in the giant slalom and super-G. Mlíčka contested his last race in September 2008.

In addition to grass skiing , Mlíčka also took part in alpine skiing races from 2004 onwards . In FIS races he was among the top 20 three times.
