Alejandro Aclan

Alejandro Dumbrigue Aclan (born February 9, 1951 in Pasay , Philippines ) is a Filipino-American clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Los Angeles .

Life

Alejandro Aclan studied medical technology from 1967 to 1971 at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila . He emigrated to the United States and studied at the Camarillo seminary from 1988 to 1993 . On June 5, 1993, Roger Michael Cardinal Mahony donated him the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles .

After working in pastoral care, he was responsible for vocational pastoral care in the pastoral care region of San Gabriel Valley from 2010 to 2012 . From 2012 to 2015 he was deputy episcopal vicar and then until 2018 episcopal vicar for the clergy. In 2017 he received the honorary title of Papal Honorary Chaplain ( Monsignor ).

On March 5, 2019 Pope appointed him Francis to the titular of Rusicade and auxiliary bishop in Los Angeles. The Archbishop of Los Angeles, José Horacio Gómez , donated him episcopal ordination on May 16 of the same year . Co- consecrators were Archbishop Emeritus of Los Angeles, Cardinal Roger Michael Mahony, and the Bishop of Salt Lake City , Oscar Azarcon Solis .
