Alejandro Vila

Alejandro Javier Vila (* 1961 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine conductor , pianist and bassoonist .

Life

Alejandro Vila studied piano and bassoon as well as composition and composition at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música "Carlos López Buchardo" in Buenos Aires. From 1979 to 1982 he was a member of the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Radio Nacional (Youth Orchestra of Radio Nacional ) and following 1982-1984 principal bassoonist in the Buenos Aires Philharmonic .

In 1984 he received a scholarship from the Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and studied conducting from 1985 to 1989 at the Berlin University of the Arts . From 1986 to 1996 he regularly attended master classes in conducting from Sergiu Celibidache and took part in his seminars “ Phenomenology of Music”. This was followed by collaborations as a conductor and also as an instrumentalist with several ensembles and orchestras, including the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen , the Berliner Symphoniker , the RIAS youth orchestra and the Ensemble Oriol in Berlin, the Berlin Chamber Opera , the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional in Buenos Aires, orchester der Universidad Nacional de San Juan in San Juan .

From 1990 to 2004, Vila directed the Chiemgau Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Music Schools in the Traunstein District (CJSO), from 1996 to 2000 the Symphonic Ensemble Munich and from autumn 2000 to 2011 the Symphony Orchestra Crescendo Munich .

Vila has been the artistic director and conductor of the MON Symphonic Wind Orchestra (SBM) since 2016 and has conducted the Regensburg Wind Philharmonic (sbor) since 2016 .

Since 1990 he has taught piano and bassoon at the Trostberg Music School and teaches bassoon, piano and conducting at the Schwabing Music Academy in Munich . He has a teaching position at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim .
