Aleksander Tupalski (born October 5, 1900 in Gelsenkirchen , German Empire , † January 9, 1980 in Canberra , Australia ) was a Polish ice hockey and soccer player .

Career

ice Hockey

Aleksander Tupalski played for AZS Warsaw . He first took part for the Polish national ice hockey team in the 1927 European Championship in Vienna , where he was considered the best player on his team. He also represented his colors at the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz . In the two games against Sweden (2: 2) and Czechoslovakia (2: 3) he scored one goal each during the tournament. A year later he took part in the European Championships in Budapest , where he won the silver medal with the Polish selection. At the home world championship in 1931 in Krynica-Zdrój he was also in the Polish squad and reached with his team at this tournament not only a fourth place in the World Cup, but also again the title of vice European champion.

Soccer

Tupalski also made a career on the green lawn. He played from 1923 to 1928 with Polonia Warsaw and then until 1930 with Gedania Danzig . In 1925 he made his debut against Estonia in the Polish national team . In total, he completed three international matches in 1925/26, in which he scored one goal.

He later emigrated to Australia, where he also died.

Note: From 1930 (with the exception of 1932) the European championship placements were awarded within the framework of the world championship.
