Aleksandrów is a village in the powiat Biłgorajski of the Lublin Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the rural community of the same name with 3258 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019).

Church of the place

Aleksandrów is a long street village on the Puszczanska plain . Its area covers almost the entire municipal area. The district town of Biłgoraj is about ten kilometers to the northwest.

The place is divided into the four Schulzenämter Aleksandrów I-IV and the Przymiarki district to the west.

history

The municipality of Aleksandrów was spun off on January 1, 1992 from the western part of the urban-and-rural municipality of Józefów . Their area belonged to the Zamość Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998 .

A few days after the Józefów massacre on July 13, 1942, the III. Battalion of the 25th German Police Regiment in Aleksandrów. In this "action", however, the captured Jews were released before the execution.
