Robert Hedemann

Robert Hedemann (* 1991 in Rostock ) is a German jazz musician ( bass trombone , tuba ).

Live and act

Hedemann studied jazz at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater with Ingo Lahme and Nils Landgren and at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Erik van Lier and Martin van den Berg. Even before his studies he became a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra , where he worked under the direction of John Ruocco , Niels Klein , Florian Ross and Jiggs Whigham and played on concert tours in Croatia, Lithuania and West Africa.

Hedemann was also on a European tour in 2012 with the NDR Bigband , Al Jarreau and Joe Sample . Funded by the European Broadcast Union , he was a member of the European Jazz Orchestra in 2013 and 2018 . He was also a member of Fetten Hupe Hannover ( Godchild 2015) and Ed Partyka's jazz orchestra ( Kopfkino 2017). He also worked with Malte Schiller , the Subway Jazz Orchestra , Stefan Schultzes Large Ensemble , the Jazzrausch Bigband , the Bamesreiter Schwartz Orchestra , the Sunday Night Orchestra and Matthias Schriefl . He can also be heard on records by Roger Cicero , Klaus Lage , Lars Seniuk's New German Art Orchestra as well as Reinier Baas , Ben van Gelder and the Metropole Orkest . Since November 2019 he has been a member of the hr big band , where he replaced Manfred Honetschläger as bass trombonist .
