Aleksandre Wassiltschenko ( Georgian ალექსანდრე ვასილჩენკო , Russian Александр Василченко Alexander Wassiltschenko ; born October 6, 1991 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a Georgian - Russian ice hockey player who has played for Bakurianis Mimino in the Georgian ice hockey league since 2016 .

Career

Aleksandre Wassiltschenko, who was born in the Russian capital Moscow , began his career in Canada, where he was on the ice for the Bobcaygeon Bucks in the Greater Metro Hockey League, a regional youth league, and was nominated for the GMHL Young Guns Game in 2010. After interrupting his career for five years, he went to Georgia, where he has played for Bakuriani's Mimino in the Georgian ice hockey league since 2016 .

International

After serving as assistant coach of the Georgian national team at the 2016 World Cup , Vasilchenko made his debut as a player at the 2018 Division III World Cup . He scored five goals in five games and provided seven assists, making him the third-best scorer of the tournament behind his compatriots Aleksandre Shushunashvili and Oliver Obolgogiani and the second-best preparer behind Shushunashvili. He made a significant contribution to the Georgians' first promotion to Division II.
