Eliezer Sherbatov (born October 9, 1991 in Rehovot ) is an Israeli ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Košice in the Slovakian extra league.

Career

Eliezer Sherbatov, who was born in Israel to parents of Russian descent, emigrated with his family to Laval in the Canadian province of Quebec when he was two . However, he did not begin his career as a hockey player in the motherland of skating, but at HC Metulla in Israel. In 2008 he returned to Laval and played for Laval-Bourassa Rousseau Sports in the Québec Midget Hockey League . After he had won the league with his team in 2009, he moved to the Club de hockey junior de Montréal in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . During his second season in Montreal, he left the team and moved to league rivals Drakkar de Baie-Comeau in early 2011 , where he played the season to the end. He then moved to Europe, where he played for the hockey club Neuilly-sur-Marne, initially in the Ligue Magnus , the top French division. With the team based east of Paris, however, he immediately suffered relegation and spent the 2012/13 season in the second-rate Division 1 . In 2013 he moved to the HK Astana in Kazakhstan . A year later he moved to HK Beibarys Atyrau , who also plays in the Kazakh championship . With this he won this championship in 2016. In the 2017/18 season he played for HC Slovan Bratislava in the Continental Hockey League .

International

In the junior area, Sherbatov was at the U-18 World Championships in 2005 and 2006 in Division III and in 2008 in Division II on the ice.

With the men's national team , Sherbatov took part in the World Championships of Division II in 2010 , 2012 when he was voted best player on his team, and in 2014 and Division III in 2011 . In 2011 he became the top scorer and was the best assist provider and thus also the top scorer of the tournament. He was also recognized as the best striker and for the best plus / minus balance that year.
