During this period he was selected in the third round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft as a total of 76 players by the Pittsburgh Penguins , for which he never played. Although the defender went to North America in 1995, he only played in the minor leagues in the following three years , where he played for the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League , the Cleveland Lumberjacks and Long Beach Ice Dogs in the International Hockey League , as well as the Hampton Roads Admirals and Johnstown Chiefs in the East Coast Hockey League was used. He then returned to his Russian homeland and spent the 1998/99 season at HK Sibir Novosibirsk in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division.

From 1999 to 2004 Krivchenkov played for Severstal Tscherepowez in the super league . There he was able to prevail in the long term in the top Russian league. The left shooter spent the 2004/05 season at his ex-club HK Sibir Novosibirsk, which in the meantime had also been promoted to the Super League. The following season he began with his league rivals Vitjas Chekhov , but left the club after two goals and three assists in 28 games and returned to Novosibirsk. After Sibir had been accepted into the newly founded Continental Hockey League for the 2008/09 season , he started the season again in Novosibirsk, but moved after twelve missions to KHL league rivals Metallurg Novokuznetsk , for whom he played until 2011. In the 2010/11 season Krwitschenkow was assistant captain at Metallurg.
