Alen Muratović (born October 23, 1979 in Nikšić , Yugoslavia ) is a Montenegrin handball player .
Alen Muratović, who most recently played for the Spanish club Frigoríficos del Morrazo Cangas and played for the Montenegrin national handball team, is usually used on the left backcourt .
Career
Alen Muratović first played in the Montenegrin league. In 2003 he moved from RK Lovćen Cetinje to Frigoríficos del Morrazo Cangas in the Spanish league ASOBAL . After his international breakthrough at the handball world championship in 2005 and the relegation of his club in 2005, he was hired by BM Valladolid . With the men from Castile, he won the Copa del Rey de Balonmano in 2005/2006 . When he played with BM Valladolid in the 2006/07 EHF Champions League , Muratović's popularity experienced a further boost; For example, he was being discussed at TBV Lemgo as the successor to Filip Jícha . Nevertheless, he extended his contract with BM Valladolid until 2010. In the summer of 2008 Muratović moved to SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the 1st handball league for an estimated € 700,000 . In a friendly match against SV Post Schwerin in early 2009 , Muratović seriously injured his shoulder. Even after a long period of rehabilitation, he did not fully regain his fitness for sport. Because of this, his contract in Flensburg was canceled in May 2010. In summer 2010 he began training in sports management. Since the 2013/14 season Muratović has been actively playing handball again and is under contract with the Spanish club Frigoríficos del Morrazo Cangas.
Alen Muratović made 17 appearances for the national team of the former Serbia-Montenegro and was one of the discoveries of the 2005 World Cup . Serbia and Montenegro took 5th place. In 2008 he also took 12th place with the Montenegrin national team at the European Championships in Norway .
