Alessandro Cardinal Lualdi (born August 12, 1858 in Milan , Italy , † November 12, 1927 in Palermo ) was Archbishop of Palermo .

Life

Alessandro Lualdi studied in Milan and Rome , the subjects philosophy and Catholic theology . He received the sacrament of ordination in 1880 and then worked as a parish chaplain in Milan. From 1890 to 1894 he taught at the Milan seminary , from 1894 to 1904 he worked as a lecturer in Rome. In 1899 Pope Leo XIII awarded him . the title of papal secret chamberlain . Pope Pius X appointed him Archbishop of Palermo in 1904 . The episcopal ordination received Alessandro Lualdi by Mariano Cardinal Rampolla ; Co- consecrators were Nicolò Audino , Bishop of Mazara del Vallo , and Mario Sturzo , Bishop of Piazza Armerina .

On April 15, 1907 Alessandro Lualdi was a cardinal priest with the titular church of San Gregorio Magno al Celio in the College of Cardinals received. He attended the conclave in both 1914 and 1922 . In 1926 Pope Pius XI sent him . as papal legate to celebrate the eight hundredth anniversary of St. Agatha in Catania .

Alessandro Lualdi died in Palermo on November 12, 1927 and was buried in the Cathedral of Maria Santissima Assunta .
