Alessio Carissimo

Alessio Carissimo (* 24. November 1935 in Bern ) is an Italian diplomat in retirement .

In 1959, he graduated in law at the University of La Sapienza from.

Career

In 1962 he joined the foreign service. From 1966 to 1972 he was Vice Consul in Innsbruck and then first class secretary of the embassy in Vienna . In 1972 he was employed in the Europe department. In 1974 he became counselor in Brussels, then consul general in Caracas . From 1981 he was employed in the contracts and legislative affairs department. From 1984 he was Counselor in Cairo . In 1988 he was appointed Envoy Extraordinary and Second Class Minister Plenipotentiary. From May 14, 1989 to May 21, 1993 he was ambassador to Kampala and was simultaneously accredited in Kigali ( Rwanda ) and Bujumbura ( Burundi ). In 1993 he was coordinator of the Africa department. From December 10, 1999 to November 30, 2002, he was ambassador to San Marino .
