Alex Malinga

Alex Malinga (born July 27, 1974 in Kapchorwa District ) is a Ugandan marathon runner .

At the 1998 Half Marathon World Championships in Uster, he came in 58th place. After a sixth place in the Mombasa Marathon in 1999, he was nominated for the marathon of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, where he finished 57th.

At the 2003 Half Marathon World Championships in Vilamoura, he came in 21st. In 2004 he won a Mombasa marathon that was too long due to misdirection. In 2005 he was ninth in the Mumbai Marathon and set a national record as sixth in the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki with 2:12:12 h.

The following year he finished eighth in Mumbai, came 66th at the 2006 World Road Running Championships in Debrecen and came third in the Nairobi Marathon .

In 2007 he won the Luxembourg Marathon and was twelfth at the World Championships in Osaka . He finished his second Olympic marathon at the 2008 Beijing Games with a 31st place.
