Alex Silva (music producer)
Alex Silva is a British music producer from London who is now also active in Berlin .
Career
Silva began his career in London in 1995 as a sound engineer for David A. Stewart ( Eurythmics ). He then became known, among other things, for his work for Herbert Grönemeyer , for whom he has been working since Bleibt alles anders (1998) and also produced his most successful album Mensch as well as the successors 12 , Schiffsverkehr , Dauernd Jetzt and Tumult . But Alex Silva also worked for Mick Jagger , Paul McCartney , Daryl Hall , Marianne Faithfull , Jon Bon Jovi , Nelly Furtado and the Manic Street Preachers . He was initially based in London at Mayfair Studios .
In 2007 Silva moved to Berlin . His partner, the actress Nina Hoss , also lived there. He founded the production company SixTsix with the musician Alli MacInnes, who also moved from London to Berlin. This is based in the Hansa Studios on Köthener Straße in Kreuzberg .
In the field of film and theater, Silva has worked with Anton Corbijn , Peter Greenaway , Ted Demme , Paul Verhoeven and Robert Wilson , among others .
In 2003 Silva won the Echo as best producer.
