At the age of 15, Zingerle took part in FIS races and national junior races from December 2007 . In February 2009 he took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Szczyrk , but did not finish in his two missions. A specialization in the technical disciplines became apparent early on, as he only sporadically competed in the fast downhill and super-G disciplines. In February 2010 he drove for the first time in the European Cup , but initially without any notable success. He won the first point at this level in January 2011. At the Junior World Championship in 2012 , he won the silver medal in the team competition.
Zingerle made his debut in the World Cup on December 16, 2012 at the giant slalom on the Gran Risa in Alta Badia , where he was classified in 49th place Victories (all in slalom). In the European Cup he started to get into the points regularly. At the Junior World Championships in 2013 he won a second silver medal in the giant slalom. On December 14, 2013 he was able to win his first World Cup points when he finished 18th in the slalom on the Face de Bellevarde in Val-d'Isère with the high starting number 59.
