Alexander Martynyuk ( Russian Александр Акимович Мартынюк * 11. September 1945 in Moscow ) is a former Soviet ice hockey player , who during his career with Spartak Moscow several times Soviet champion and Soviet Cup winner and the Soviet national team two gold medals at the World Ice Hockey Championships won.

Career

Alexander Martyniuk began his career in 1963 at Krylya Sovetov Moscow , he for two seasons in the Klass A was active. In 1965, Vsevolod Bobrov brought him to Spartak Moscow , despite his rather small stature . At Spartak he formed a very dangerous attack series with Vladimir Schadrin and Alexander Jakuschew , which regularly found itself in the top scorer lists of the Soviet league in the late 1960s and early 1970s. If Spartak won the runner-up in 1966, the team won the Soviet championship a year later . The team around Martynjuk's attack series in 1969 and 1976 was able to repeat this success. He also won the Soviet cup competition with Spartak in 1970 and 1971 .

At the end of his career, Martynjuk received permission to move to Western Europe and played for Kapfenberger SV between 1977 and 1980 before ending his career. In total, he scored 212 goals in 410 games in the Wysschaya League and Class A.

International

On December 1, 1968, he was in a game against Finland for the first time for the Soviet national team on the ice. In 1972 he completed a game for the Sbornaja as part of the 1972 Summit Series against Canada . His international career was crowned with two gold medals at the ice hockey world championships in 1971 and 1973. At the 1973 World Cup he scored a total of eight goals in the game against Germany , which has not been topped by any player at World Cups since.

For the national team, he scored a total of 24 goals in 45 international matches. On November 5, 1990, he played his last international match. In 1973 he was named the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR .

Today Martinyuk is active at HK Legendy Chokkeja , an old men’s club .
