Alexander Graeff (born September 24, 1976 in Bad Kreuznach ) is a German writer and philosopher . He lives and works as a lecturer, freelance author and editor in Berlin and Greifswald.

Vita

Alexander Graeff studied economics, engineering, education and philosophy in Karlsruhe and Berlin. Between 2008 and 2012 doctorate with Heinz-Elmar Tenorth and Michael Parmentier as Dr. phil. about Wassily Kandinsky as a teacher. Graeff teaches creative writing and has held guest lectureships at various universities for aesthetics, ethics and education, including the Humboldt University of Berlin , the Berlin University of the Arts , the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences , the Viadrina European University and the Chinese University of the Arts in Hangzhou . The results of his creative processes are both philosophical and literary texts. His philosophical work is based on a constructivist worldview; topics are mostly deviant and marginalized phenomena from the history, religion and social sciences. His scientific studies regularly took him to the People's Republic of China and Prague. Since 2005 he has given lectures and readings throughout Germany.

Graeff's narrative prose is fragmentary and surreal , he also publishes poetological essays . His texts often combine everyday life and metaphysics . Graeff is not afraid of mixed literature, text-image transformations and transdisciplinary work. So far, numerous collaborations with visual artists, illustrators and musicians have emerged.

Alexander Graeff was the initiator and host of the reading series Literatur in Weißensee between 2013 and 2019 and has been the program manager for literature at the Berlin bread factory since 2016 . Together with the designer Anke Enders, Alexander Graeff has been publishing outsider literature in Edition Paradogs since 2015.
