Alexander Hetjes

Alexander W. Hetjes (born July 7, 1979 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and Lord Mayor of the city of Bad Homburg before the height .

education and profession

Hetjes grew up in Bad Homburg Kirdorf district and made in Friedrichsdorf 1999 at the Philipp-Reis-Schule his high school . After graduating as an insurance salesman with the Alte Leipziger company , he worked as an independent salesman in the insurance sector.

Hetjes is married and has a son and a daughter.

Activity in local politics

Alexander Hetjes joined the Junge Union in 1996 and the CDU in 1998. In 2001 he was elected for the first time as city councilor in Bad Homburg, in 2006 he became deputy chairman and 2011 parliamentary group chairman.

In the mayoral election on June 14, 2015, Hetjes was able to achieve 48.0 percent of the votes in the first ballot and was thus well ahead of incumbent Michael Korwisi (29.2 percent) and ahead of the competitor and mayor Karl Heinz Krug of the SPD (22.2 percent) Percent). In the runoff election on June 28, 2015, Hetjes was able to prevail clearly against incumbent Korwisi (38.5 percent) with 61.5 percent of the vote. Hetjes has been in office since September 18, 2015.
