Konrad Maß

Konrad Maß (born November 16, 1867 in Anklam ; † December 3, 1950 in Schwerin ) was a German local politician, writer and non-fiction author.

Life

The son of a district judge grew up in Anklam. From 1887 to 1891 he studied law. In 1895 he became court assessor and in 1897 magistrate assessor in Stettin . In 1899 he became a councilor in Stralsund , then went back to Stettin as a city councilor in 1901. In 1905 he became mayor and later mayor of Bad Homburg vor der Höhe . From 1907 he was second mayor, later until 1920 mayor of Görlitz . In retirement he lived in Stralsund, Heringsdorf and Schwerin .

Konrad Maß wrote several non-fiction books on the history of Pomerania as well as short stories in Low German. During the National Socialist era , his works were removed from German libraries.

His second marriage was to the writer Hedwig Rodatz .
