Alexander Tarasov-Rodionov ( Russian Александр Игнатьевич Тарасов-Родионов ; born September 25 . Jul / 7. October  1885 greg. In Astrakhan , † 3. September 1938 in Kommunarka , Moscow Oblast ) was a Russian- Soviet writers.

Life

Tarasov-Rodionov became a member of the Social Democratic Party while still a student at Kazan University during the Russian Revolution of 1905 and joined the Bolsheviks . In 1908 he finished his studies as a lawyer . During the First World War he was called up for military service in 1915 and rose to sub-lieutenant ( Podporutschik ) until 1917 . Tarasov-Rodionov took an active part in the February and October revolutions in 1917; among other things, he was involved in the arrest of General Krasnow . In July 1917 he was briefly arrested for political activity. In 1918 the KPR (B) excluded Tarasov-Rodionov for “treasonable behavior” during imprisonment in 1917; the exclusion was later reversed after Stalin's intervention .

During the Russian Civil War and until 1922, Tarasov-Rodionov served as the commander of a unit of the Red Army , until 1924 he was an investigator in the Supreme Tribunal at the People's Commissariat of Justice.

He began his literary activity in 1922 with the Powest chocolate , which also remained his most famous work. It attracted widespread attention and was highly regarded by established authors such as Sergei Yesenin . Tarasow-Rodionow belonged to the literary group Kuznitsa ("blacksmiths") and was one of the co-founders of the October group (Oktyabr) . He later joined the influential Russian Association of Proletarian Writers (RAPP) , which largely followed the “party line”.

During the Stalin Purges , Tarasov-Rodionov was arrested on April 27, 1938 on charges of espionage . He was sentenced to death on September 3, 1938, and the sentence was carried out on the same day in Kommunarka, south of Moscow. He was rehabilitated on September 8, 1956.
