Alexander Igorewitsch Tschernyschow ( Russian Александр Игоревич Чернышов ; born September 19, 1992 in Moscow ) is a former Russian biathlete .

Alexander Tschernyschow lives and studies in Moscow . The athlete, trained by Jelena Tschernyschowa, began biathlon in 2002 and has been a member of the Russian national team since 2011. He successfully made his international debut at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě and initially just missed the medal ranks as fourth in the sprint and fifth in the pursuit. With Alexander Loginow and Maxim Zwetkow he won the relay race title. Two years later he won the relay bronze medal with his two relay mates from 2011 and Timur Machambetow in Obertilliach . He also finished eighth in the sprint and sixth in the pursuit. This was followed by the junior races of the Biathlon European Championships 2013 in Bansko . In the individual, Tschernyschow took 20th place, with Jelena Badanina , Jelena Ankudinowa and Timur Machambetow he won the silver medal in the mixed relay race.

In 2014 , Chernyshev made his debut in the men's IBU Cup . In his first individual in Ridnaun he immediately won first points as 19th. In Ruhpolding , he improved his best individual result to 13th place in a pursuit race and achieved a podium finish for the first time as runner-up in the mixed relay race on the side of Yekaterina Jurjewa , Valentina Nasarowa and Sergei Korastylew .

At the beginning of November 2018 it became known that the International Biathlon Union had opened doping proceedings against Chernyshev and Svetlana Slepzowa , Alexander Pechonkin and Yevgeny Ustyugov based on suspicious samples from 2012 to 2015.
