Alexander Ivanovich Borosnjak

Alexander Iwanowitsch Borosnjak ( Russian Александр Иванович Борозняк , also Aleksandr I. Boroznjak, Alexander Boroznjak ; born January 25, 1933 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ; † December 21, 2015 in Russia ) was a specialist in the history and historiography of Germany in the 20th century Soviet and Russian historians .

Life

Alexander I. Borosnjak was born in 1933 in Kiev in what is now Ukraine . After his father was killed in the Battle of Kiev in August 1941 , he and his family were evacuated to Blagoveshchensk in the Far East , where he grew up and graduated from the MI Kalinin State Pedagogical Institute in 1954 . After completing his studies, he first worked as a history teacher in the village of Innokentyewka am Amur . After gaining initial experience in the army, he then succeeded in joining the graduate school in Moscow and traveling to Germany, where he studied at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 1961/62 under the direction of the German communist and politician , Historian and survivor of the Buchenwald concentration camp Walter Bartel was scientifically active and received his doctorate in 1963.

Borosnjak was a member of the Russian-German Historical Commission and Member founded in 1997, the Center for German History Research at the Russian Academy of Sciences and taught from 1963 Teacher at the State University of Lipetsk , where he was Head of the Department of Social and spiritual culture as well as a professor at the Institute worked for theory and practice of the German language. In the years from 1990 to 1993 he interrupted his teaching activities there and taught in Yekaterinburg , where he defended his doctoral thesis in 1991. He died at the age of 82 after a serious illness.
