Alexander Kaul (politician)

Alexander Kaul (born July 4, 1901 in Hameln , † October 15, 1972 in Athens ) was a Hessian politician ( GB / BHE ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school, Kaul studied law and economics at the Universities of Heidelberg and Munich and received his doctorate. He then worked in publishing and as a business consultant.

Alexander Kaul had already joined the NSDAP on August 29, 1922 . After it was banned, he only rejoined it after the " seizure of power " on May 1, 1933 ( membership number 2.945.510). According to his own statement (in the later arbitration proceedings ), he resigned from it in 1942. Kaul was also a member of the SA .

In the Second World War he did military service and was then taken prisoner of war. After the war, Alexander Kaul was a founding member of the GB / BHE in Hessen. On March 10, 1955, he stood up for the resigned MP Walter Preißler in the Hessian state parliament, of which he was a member until November 30, 1958.

Between March 1, 1956 and February 28, 1963, he was State Commissioner for the promotion of the Hessian emergency areas and zone outskirts in the Hessian State Chancellery. From 1963 to 1966 he was head of the department for refugee issues in the Hessian Ministry of the Interior. In 1967 Kaul was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. He lived with his family in Bensheim. In October 1972 Kaul died of a heart attack on a ship off Athens.
