Alexander Adalbert Kuntze (born July 3, 1861 in Falkenberg , Upper Silesia, † January 7, 1939 in Stettin ) was a German politician (SPD).

Live and act

Kuntze was born in 1861 as the son of a bricklayer foreman. After attending primary school in Frankenberg from 1867 to 1875, he completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith by 1878. In the following four years he practiced his profession as a traveling journeyman in Pernau , Reval and Saint Petersburg . Kuntze returned to his homeland at Christmas 1882. In the following years he toured large parts of Germany and practiced his profession in Görlitz , Leipzig , Halle and Stettin . In 1898 Kuntze took over a position as a warehouse keeper at the Stettiner Konsumverein, where he remained employed as warehouse clerk and head of the central warehouse until at least 1920.

Around 1880 Kuntze had joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). He gained his first experience as a political office holder from 1900 to 1916 as a city councilor in Szczecin. In June 1910 he then entered the Reichstag for his party , representing the constituency of Stettin 2 (Ackermünde-Usedom-Wollin). In 1916 he became a paid city councilor in Szczecin. In addition, there were activities as an assessor at the Stettin Trade Court and as an assessor of the municipal employment certificate.

In January 1919 Kuntze was elected to the Weimar National Assembly, to which he belonged as a representative of constituency 7 (Pomerania). From June 1920 to May 1924 Kuntze sat in the first regular Reichstag of the Weimar Republic , in which he represented constituency 6 (Pomerania). From 1928 to 1932 he was still a member of the Prussian state parliament .
