Alexander Kunze (born January 12, 1971 in Marienberg ) was a German soccer player until 2007 . The former goalkeeper has been the goalkeeping coach at FC Ingolstadt 04 since January 2019 .

Career

Kunze played at FSV Krumhermersdorf until he was 18 and moved to TSV IFA Chemnitz in 1989 . Kunze played at TSV IFA Chemnitz until 1992, before moving to his first professional club, Chemnitzer FC . At Chemnitzer FC, Kunze played 22 second division and 3 DFB cup games in 3 years . In 1996 Kunze moved to third division VFC Plauen , which he left after 4 years for SV Babelsberg 03 . With Babelsberg he rose in his first season in the 2nd Bundesliga , after the direct relegation in 2002 Kunze moved to Eintracht Braunschweig . With second division promoted Braunschweig Kunze rose again in his first season. After two seasons in the Regionalliga Nord , Kunze managed to return to the 2nd division with Braunschweig. After the first second division season, which ended Eintracht in 12th place, Braunschweig rose again in the 2006/07 season. In the summer of 2007 Kunze ended his active career after 69 second division, 151 regional league and 8 DFB Cup games.

In the summer of 2009 Kunze returned to Eintracht Braunschweig as a goalkeeping coach. At Eintracht, he was able to celebrate promotion to the 2nd division in 2011 and promotion to the 1st division in 2013 as a goalkeeping coach , but also experienced direct relegation from the 1st division in 2014 .
