Alexander Mills

Alexander Mühlen (born May 24, 1942 in Krefeld ) is a former German diplomat .

Life

Alexander Mühlen graduated from high school in 1961 and studied law in Bonn and at the École nationale d'administration in Paris . In 1965 he passed his first state examination in law . 1967 mills for the work Damage to third party companies in labor disputes to Dr. iur. PhD . Mühlen was deputy head of training for the higher service (1980-1983) in Bonn, then economic consultant at the German embassy in Singapore (1983-1987) and from 1987-1991 in the Foreign Office in Bonn in the personnel department and the politics department. From 1991 to 1996 Mühlen was foreign policy advisor to the FDP parliamentary group .

From 1996 to 1999 Mühlen was deputy to Werner Reichenbaum , the ambassador in Santiago de Chile . From 1999 to 2003 he was German ambassador to Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates and from 2003 to 2007 to Kampala in Uganda .

From September 2007 to summer 2012, Mühlen was responsible for the Africa program of the international diplomatic training at the Academy of the Foreign Office in Berlin . Mühlen is a lecturer at various universities and holds the seminar "Conflict Management and Negotiation".

Mühlen is married and has three grown children. Since 1961 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Bavaria Bonn .
