Alexander Mikhailovich Ivanov-Kramskoi ( Russian Александр Михайлович Иванов-Крамской * August 13 jul. / 26. August  1912 greg. In Moscow , † 11 April 1973 in Minsk ) was a Soviet guitarist , composer , conductor and music educator .

Life

Ivanov-Kramskoi first learned the violin in Moscow. After Andrés Segovia's concert at the Moscow Conservatory , he decided to play the guitar in 1926 . From 1931 to 1933 he studied guitar with Pyotr Agafoschin (a student of Segovia), composition with Nikolai Retschmenski and conducting with Konstantin Saradschew at the Moscow University of Education. This was followed by advanced courses with Agafoschin at the Conservatory.

He made his debut in Moscow in 1932. He played for several years in an ensemble with Iwan Koslowski , Alexandra Jablotschkina , Mstislaw Rostropowitsch , Nadeschda Obuchowa and Leonid Kogan . From 1932 he worked at All-Unions Radio and at the Maly Theater . In 1939 he won second prize in the Union-wide folk music competition. From 1939 to 1945 he was the conductor of the song and dance ensemble of the NKVD . From 1947 to 1952 he directed the Russian Folk Choir and the Folk Instrument Orchestra of the State Committee for Radio and Television of the USSR. He composed and edited more than 500 works and recorded over 40 LPs (including pieces by Filippo Gragnani , Niccolò Paganini and Mauro Giuliani in 1950/51 with Leonid Kogan and Fyodor Lusanow ).

In 1959 he was honored as an Honored Artist of the RSFSR . From 1960 to 1973 he taught at the Moscow Conservatory and directed the guitar class there. His daughter Natalia Iwanowa-Kramskaja as well as Nikolai Komoljatow , Felix Akopow and Alexander Frautschi belonged to his students .

He died in Minsk in 1973 and was buried in the Vvedenskoye Cemetery in Moscow.
