Alexander Michailowitsch Nossatow ( Russian Александр Михайлович Носатов ; born March 27, 1963 in Sevastopol , Soviet Union ) is a Russian admiral and has been in command of the Baltic Fleet since July 2016 .

Life

Nossatow graduated from the Black Sea Officers' College " PS Nakhimov " in 1985 . From 1985 to 1986 he served in the Pacific Fleet as an engineer for technical services at a naval base, commander of an anti-aircraft missile battery on the destroyer "Stojki" and from 1989 to 1991 as a combat section commander for artillery on the destroyer "Besbojasnenny". He then served as first officer on the Guards missile cruiser " Warjak " and was commander of the destroyer "Bystry" of the Pacific Fleet. In 2000 Nossatow graduated from the Naval War Academy NG Kuznetsov . 2009, after successful completion of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia , he was appointed as commander of the naval base Baltijsk the Baltic Fleet used. By order of the President of the Russian Federation on January 27, 2013, he was appointed Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Black Sea Fleet . On May 5, 2014, Nossatov was promoted to Vice Admiral. From May 2016 he was employed as head of the Naval War Academy and since June 30, 2016 has temporarily fulfilled the duties of commander of the Baltic Fleet. On September 17, 2016, a presidential decree appointed him as commander of the Baltic Fleet. With the presidential decree of December 12, 2018, his promotion to admiral was confirmed.
