Alexander Muheim

Alexander Muheim (born April 19, 1809 in Altdorf , † October 9, 1867 in Vevey , entitled to live in Altdorf) was a Swiss politician ( KVP ).

biography

Muheim attended primary and Latin school in Altdorf . He was a landowner and co-owner of the Muheim & Co. money lottery. He also owned freight forwarding and financial transactions.

Alexander Muheim held various municipal offices. Among other things, he was in the Council of Churches from 1838 to 1867, of which he was President from 1862 to 1867, was Chairman from 1842 to 1867, and from 1850 to 1856 and from 1859 to 1864 Landammann . In the parliamentary elections in 1860 he was elected to the National Council by the people of Uri and had a seat there until 1865.

With the founding of the Confederation in 1848, a new order was created in the canton of Uri , which Muheim strengthened.
