Alexander Alexejewitsch Pechurski ( Russian Александр Алексеевич Печурский ; born June 4, 1990 in Magnitogorsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk since June 2018 .
Career
Alexander Petschurski began his career as an ice hockey player at HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk . Before that he was already active in the youth sector for the club. In the 2009/10 season he first went on the ice for the Steel Foxes in the Russian junior league, the MHL, but also made his debut in the KHL for Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
In December 2009, Petschurski asked Magnitogorsk's management for clearance so that he could move to North America to the Tri-City Americans from the Western Hockey League . There he played six games - in which he posted two shutouts - before he was signed on January 16, 2010 with an amateur try-out contract by the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League . These were in an away game on the Canadian west coast and needed a second goalkeeper after the injuries of the two regular goalkeepers Marc-André Fleury and Brent Johnson . Since the Penguins had only managed to order their third goalkeeper John Curry to Vancouver, Pechurski took this position. The choice fell on him because the Tri-Cities were in the immediate vicinity and his statistics at this point gave a good impression. On the same day he completed his first NHL game for the Pittsburgh Penguins when he came on in the 24th minute and allowed only one goal in 13 shots on his goal.
In 2010 he returned to Magnitogorsk on short notice before taking part in the training camp of the Pittsburgh Penguins in September 2010, which sent him back to the Tri-City Americans in the WHL. After three games, he left the team and signed a contract with the Mississippi RiverKings in the Central Hockey League in November 2010 . In January 2011, the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins , Pittsburgh's farm team, signed him for a try-out. For this, however, he did not play a game and then decided to return to Russia. Pechurski received in June 2011 a two-year contract with HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from the Continental Hockey League . In 2014 he won the KHL championship trophy , the Gagarin Cup, with Metallurg .
In December 2014 it was given to Amur Khabarovsk in exchange for Alexei Murygin .

For Russia , Pechursky took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2008 , where he and his team won the silver medal.
