Alexander Prentzel

Alexander Prentzel (born December 1, 1875 in Goslar ; † 1955 ) was a German civil servant in the Prussian civil service, from 1919 he worked in the German Potash Advisory Board and in the Reichskalirat .

Life

After attending grammar school, Prentzel studied law and economics in Berlin, Munich, Marburg and Göttingen. He then worked for several years as an assessor in various local governments in the Ruhr area . He then worked as a lecturer in the Prussian State Ministry and then at the Prussian Ministry of Welfare, where he was appointed to the Privy Councilor.

He resigned from civil service at the end of 1919 and took up a position in the management of the German Potash Indicate in Berlin - based at Dessauer Strasse 28/29. There he took on tasks as an advisory board member for the chairman of the supervisory board. He was appointed to the board of the syndicate in 1926. Politically, he was involved in the German Democratic Party (DDP). In October 1924 he signed the founding appeal for the Liberal Association (1924–1929) (LVg), which was composed of the right-wing spectrum of the DDP.

After he had headed the domestic department in the Potash Advisory Board, he was also appointed a managing member of the Reichskalirat. He also became a member of the board of directors of the employers' association of the lime industry. He was married to Maria Dürr (1882–1974), daughter of Gustav Dürr (1853–1908) - the inventor of the tube boiler and, with his brother Walther Dürr, founder of Dürr-Werke GmbH in Ratingen - and his wife Sophia Maria Kunz (1863 -1920). His son Felix Prentzel was born on March 9, 1905 in Koblenz .

Since he felt very attached to art, he also put on an important collection. In Berlin he lived in Berlin-Grunewald at Hubertusallee 34. The architect Ernst Haiger had built a house for him in 1911 in Koblenz-Oberwerth on Lortzingstrasse.
