Alexander Sergejewitsch Nikulin ( Russian Александр Сергеевич Никулин ; born August 25, 1985 in Perm , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who last played for HK Vitjas in the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Alexander Nikulin began his career in 2003 at HK CSKA Moscow , where he was under contract until 2007. In the 2004 NHL Entry Draft , the Ottawa Senators selected him in the fourth round in 122nd place. In the 2007/08 season , the striker completed two NHL games with the Ottawa Senators. In the next season, the Russian was once on the ice for the Phoenix Coyotes . From 2007 to 2009 he was mostly used in the North American farm teams. So in 2009 he decided to return to Russia to HK CSKA Moscow. In September 2010 the center moved to league rivals Amur Khabarovsk .
In October 2012, Nikulin was given to HK Sibir Novosibirsk in exchange for Andrei Stepanow and Michail Fissenko . For Sibir he completed 43 KHL games in which he scored 17 points before moving to HK Spartak Moscow at the end of the season, for which he completed 45 KHL games until 2014. He then returned to his hometown club in May 2014 and played in five KHL games at the beginning of the 2013/14 season. At the same time he was used at Buran Voronezh in the second division before he was obliged in October of the same year via the KHL waiver from Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk . For Neftechimik he only completed 22 missions in the KHL before he switched to HK Lada Tolyatti in July 2015 . After 16 missions for Lada, in which he collected two scorer points, he was exchanged for Anton Kryssanow from HK Vitjas in early October of the same year . Nikulin played for Vitjas until 2019 and completed 133 KHL games for the club from Moscow Oblast.
International
With the Russian national team , Alexander Nikulin took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2005 . In a total of six World Cup appearances, the Russian scored two points.
