Andrei Stepanov ( Russian Андрей Юрьевич Степанов , Belarusian Андрэй Юр'евіч Сцяпанаў / Andrey Yuryevich Szjapanau * 14. April 1986 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a Belarusian - Russian hockey player who since August 2020 in HK Dinamo maladzyechna from the Belarusian Extraliga is under contract and plays there in the position of the left winger .
Career
Moscow-born Stepanov played for HK CSKA Moscow during his junior years . At the age of 16, he moved to city rival Krylja Sowetow Moscow in 2002 . There he was active until 2005 and during this time completed his first appearances in the second-rate Wysschaja League . After his departure, the striker ran for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod , HK MWD Tver , Vityaz Chekhov , Metallurg Novokuznetsk and HK Dmitrov until 2008 . He made his Super League debut for Twer in the 2005/06 season .
In the summer of 2008 Stepanov moved to Belarus for HK Junost Minsk . With Minsk he celebrated three championship titles in a row between 2009 and 2011. Especially in the 2010/11 season, Stepanow completed an excellent season and finished the regular season of the Belarusian extra league as the best point player with 40 goals and 75 points. He also won the IIHF Continental Cup in 2011 . These achievements and the subsequent ones at the 2011 World Cup brought him a commitment in the Continental Hockey League and he decided in May 2011 to accept a contract offer from Amur Khabarovsk . A year later he moved within the league to HK Sibir Novosibirsk .
In October 2012, Stepanov and Mikhail Fissenko were given to Amur Khabarovsk in exchange for Alexander Nikulin .
At the beginning of the 2013/14 season, Stepanow played for Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , before he was released in November 2014 and signed a few days later by HK Dinamo Minsk . For Dinamo he completed 35 assignments in the KHL before he switched to HK Lada Tolyatti in June 2015 , but returned to Dinamo in October 2015. After five years, Stepanow moved to HK Dinamo Maladseschna from the Belarusian extra league in August 2020 .
International
After his naturalization, Stepanov was appointed to the Belarusian national team for the first time for the 2011 World Cup in Slovakia . He has been on the ice in six games, scored two goals and booked three assists . He was also in the Belarusian squad at the World Championships in 2012 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 as well as the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 and in Pyeongchang in 2018 .
