Alexander Iwanowitsch Tscherwjakow ( Russian Александр Иванович Червяков ; English Alexandr Chervyakov ; also Alexsandr Chervyhkov (IBU spelling); born June 18, 1980 in Kökschetau , Kazakh SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Kazakh biathlete .

Alexander Tscherwjakow is a sports soldier who lives in Kokshetau . The officer trained by Gennady Makarov has been a biathlete since 2003. The Kazakh made his first international appearance in 2004 as 19th in an individual at a European Cup in Geilo . In Beitostølen he made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup shortly afterwards as 60th in the sprint. He immediately qualified for the subsequent pursuit, where he improved by one place. In the second half of the season he achieved his best result so far in the pre-Olympic competition in Turin as 27th in the individual. He then started in Hochfilzen for the first time, albeit without any notable placements, at the biathlon world championships . The high point of Chervyakov's career so far was participation in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. The best result was a 53rd place in the pursuit. At the Biathlon World Championships in 2008 in Östersund Tscherwjakow was able to place himself in the individual for the first time in a major event as 28th in the points. The Biathlon World Championships 2009 brought with the 33rd place in the sprint a result within its possibilities. In the following season he regularly placed between 30th and 40th place and was again nominated for the 2010 Olympic Games . With places 49, 50 and 51 in pursuit, individual and sprint as well as 18th place in the relay with Sawizki , Trifonow and Keneschow , the results were slightly weaker than during the season. In the overall ranking of the World Cup, he achieved his best position so far with 61st place.
