Alexander Wassiljewitsch Fomin ( Russian Александр Васильевич Фомин ; born May 25, 1959 in Leninogorsk , Eastern Kazakhstan Oblast , Soviet Union ) is a Russian politician and has been Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation since January 2017 .

Life

Fomin graduated from the Military Institute of the Soviet Ministry of Defense in 1984. From 1977 he served in the Soviet Army and after the dissolution of the Soviet Union until 1993 in the Russian Armed Forces .
