Alexander Wiktorowitsch Selujanow ( Russian Александр Викторович Селуянов ; born April 24, 1982 in Ufa , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the Continental Hockey League . His younger brother Vyacheslav is also a hockey player.
Career
Alexander Selujanow began his career as a hockey player with Novoil Ufa , for which he was active in the third-class Pervaya League in the 1998/99 season . He then moved to Salawat Julajew Ufa , for which he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the following season , scoring three points in 13 games, including one goal. After two years, the defender left Salawat and signed a contract with their league rivals HK Lada Tolyatti , with whom he was runner-up in the 2004/05 season. The former junior national player was then signed by HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , with whom he first won the Spengler Cup in December 2005 and the IIHF European Champions Cup in 2008. Furthermore, Selujanow was 2007 with his team for the first time Russian champions . In the 2008/09 season he reached the final of Metallurg in the newly formed Champions Hockey League , where he and his team the ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League A defeated.
At the end of September 2010, Selujanow moved within the KHL to OHK Dynamo , before he was signed by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in May 2011 . There he did not stay long either and at the end of October 2011 moved again within the KHL, this time to HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk .
From July 2012 he was under contract with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , and a year later he moved to Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg .
International
For Russia , Alexander Selujanow took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in 2000 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 2001 .
