Alexander Wladimirowitsch Tyschnych ( Russian Александр Владимирович Тыжных ; born May 26, 1958 in Chelyabinsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet ice hockey goalkeeper who won numerous national and international titles with the Moscow Army Club between 1976 and 1991 . Other stations included Salawat Julajew Ufa and the Cape Breton Oilers from the American Hockey League .

Career

Tyschnych played in the junior division at the club in his hometown, HK Tractor Chelyabinsk . In the summer of 1976 he finally moved to the army club CSKA Moscow , where he first shared the goalkeeping post with Vladislav Tretyak and then with Yevgeny Belosheikin until 1984 . Only in the 1986/87 season was his involvement with ZSKA interrupted when he stood between the posts for SKA MWO Kalinin . After the 1987/88 season he then moved to Salawat Yulayev Ufa for a year . During his time at CSKA he had won the Soviet league title eight times , the Soviet Cup once and the European Cup nine times .

By the fall of the Iron Curtain succeeded Tyschnych the summer of 1989 to go to North America, where he is the franchise of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League joined. The following two years he played for their farm team , the Cape Breton Oilers , in the American Hockey League . Then he ended his career.

International

Tyschnych represented the U20 national team of the USSR in the junior division for the first time at the U19 European Junior Championship . There he won the gold medal with the team. He also played at the Junior World Championships in 1977 and 1978 , where the goalkeeper also won two gold medals. He was appointed to the all-star team of the tournament at both World Cups and was also named the best goalkeeper in 1978.

In the senior level , the goalkeeper Jan-Sept 1984 denied only four games, two of them at the 1984 Canada Cup . In all games Tyschnych left the ice as the winner.
