Alexandru Octavian Ioniță (born August 5, 1989 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian football player . He has been under contract with Aris Limassol since summer 2017 .

Career

The striker played for Viscofil Bucharest in his youth since 1999. In 2006 Ioniță moved to Rapid Bucharest and initially played in the reserve team. In the 2007/08 season he was awarded to AFC Rocar Bucharest . In early 2009 he returned to Rapid and scored ten goals in 27 games in the 2009/10 season .

Ioniță moved to 1. FC Köln on July 1, 2010 . There he played his first game in the DFB Cup against ZFC Meuselwitz on August 15, 2010 and made his Bundesliga debut two weeks later on August 28 against Werder Bremen when he came on for Milivoje Novakovič in the 77th minute .

In the winter break of 2011/12, 1. FC Cologne awarded Ioniță to their old club Rapid Bucharest until the end of the season. On August 31, 2012, his contract with 1. FC Köln was terminated. He finally moved back permanently to Rapid Bucharest.

His contract was not renewed in the summer of 2013. On August 1, 2013, Ioniță signed a three-year contract with the Turkish second division club Orduspor . At the beginning of August 2014, by mutual agreement, he terminated his contract with Orduspor and left this association. At the beginning of September he was signed by the Cypriot club AEL Limassol . There he was rarely used and left the club in the summer of 2015. Ioniță was four months without a club before FC Voluntari signed him in November 2015 . He came to four short appearances in League 1 and dissolved his contract in early 2016. At the end of March 2016 he was hired by Farul Constanța in Liga II. He came to six games for Farul. In the summer of 2016 he moved to first division club ASA Târgu Mureș . After six months he canceled his contract.

In the summer of 2017, Ioniță hired Aris Limassol . There he rarely made it into the starting line-up and was mostly used as a substitute. At the end of the 2017/18 season , he had to relegate his team.

International

Ioniță made his debut for the Romanian U-21 national team in 2009 and played 8 games without scoring until 2010.
