Alexei Wassiljewitsch Gordejew ( Russian Алексе́й Васи́льевич Горде́ев ; born February 28, 1955 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) is a Russian politician. He was Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation from 1999 to 2009, Governor of Voronezh Oblast from 2009 to 2017 and President's Plenipotentiary in the Central Federal District from December 25, 2017 to May 18, 2018 . He has been Deputy Prime Minister since May 18, 2018.

Gordejew was born in Frankfurt (Oder) in the GDR and grew up in Magadan . From 1973 to 1978 he successfully studied at the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineering ( институт инженеров железнодорожного транспорта ). After his studies and military service, he worked from 1980 as a senior foreman at the Russian construction company Glavmosstroy ( Главмосстрой ). From 1981 to 1986 he worked as a senior specialist, head of department and then as deputy head of Glavsnaba Minplodoovoschhoza of the Russian SFSR ( Главснаба Минплодоовощхоза РСФСР ). In 1986 he became deputy head of production and sales of packaging at Gosagroprom of the RSFSR ( Госагропром РСФСР ) and in the same year deputy general director of the Industrial Agricultural Combine "Moscow" ( Агропромышленный комбинат "Момбинат" ). In 1992 he graduated from the Moscow Academy of Economics at the Council of Ministers of the USSR ( Академия народного хозяйства (АНХ) при Совете Министров СССР ab) and was managing director of the Rajons Lyubertsy in the Moscow Oblast . From 1997 he was head of the Department of Economics and a member of the Collegium of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Russian Federation. In May 1998 he became First Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Food. In early 1999 Gordejew was elected deputy chairman of the Agrarian Party under Mikhail Lapschin.

Gordeyev became Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Russian Federation in the Putin government on August 19, 1999 . In May 2002 he was also chairman of the Russian Agrarian Movement (Rossijskoje agrarnoje dwischenije, RAD), which, unlike the KPRF, is loyal to the ruling United Russia party .

On February 16, 2009 Gordejew was nominated by the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev for the post of governor of Voronezh Oblast . On February 26th he was approved by the local parliament. His inauguration took place on March 12th. He was re-elected for a five-year term in September 2014, but resigned in December 2017 and became the representative of the Russian President in the Central Federal District. In May 2018, Gordeyev returned to the government and became Dmitry Medvedev's vice-prime minister in the second cabinet.

Gordejew is a candidate for nauk (doctorate) in economics.
