The Alfenz (especially on the upper reaches also Alfenzbach ) is the main river of the Klostertal in Vorarlberg . It arises from the confluence of the Flexenbach and Rauzbach near Stuben . Over a length of approx. 26 km it flows from Stuben west towards Bludenz , where it flows into the Ill 3.5 km from the city . The S 16 runs parallel to the Alfenz .

Economic use

The illwerke vkw AG uses the water of Alfenz between offices and Danöfen to generate electricity in power plants Klösterle . In order to guarantee the ecological functionality of the affected waters, a doping water levy takes place .
