Alfonso Tóriz Cobián (born August 12, 1913 in Juchitlán , Jalisco , Mexico , † March 25, 1992 ) was Bishop of Querétaro .

Life

Alfonso Tóriz Cobián received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Guadalajara on October 28, 1939 .

On August 24, 1954, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Avissa and ordered him to Coadjutor Bishop of Chilapa . The Archbishop of Guadalajara, José Garibi y Rivera , donated him episcopal ordination on October 31 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Zacatecas , Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero , and the Bishop of Cuernavaca , Sergio Méndez Arceo . Alfonso Tóriz Cobián became Bishop of Chilapa on January 12, 1956, succeeding the late Leopoldo Díaz y Escudero . On March 20, 1958, Pius XII appointed him. to the Bishop of Querétaro.

Alfonso Tóriz Cobián attended the first and second session of the Second Vatican Council .
